First Dream Team Meeting Rocked!

The Dream Team's first meeting was fun and productive. Each of the four of us read our list of dreams out loud and after all the lists, we began the discussion. Personally, I learned more about my friends and was thrilled to hear their aspirations.

Dreams ranged from the simple, everyday "standing at my desk more" to the more exotic "learning to fly a plane." We found that three of us had the same aspiration to learn to sew and perhaps we will hire someone for a small group instruction. One person's dream involved a DJ and someone else was able to provide the name of a co-worker who is a DJ. Some people wanted to save money so the people with Mint.com experience promoted that as a good start.

Overall I think it was a great start to The Dream Team and I hope that we will attract more dreamers to the group.

Assignment #2:
  • Invite someone to join The Dream Team
  • Organize your dreams by time frame. To do now, in the next 12 months, in the next 1-5 years, in the next 5+ years
  • Check off the dreams you have accomplished and keep tabs on those
  • Start reading The Dream Manager by Matthew Kelly

Dream On

I have a dream! Well, I have lots of dreams. Some I can accomplish today. Others, I'd be surprised if I ever accomplish them. But they are there and I will use whatever time I have left in this world to try to make them happen.

I'm the type of person who is constantly looking for inspiration, motivation and education. I use much of my commute and exercise time to listen to the long list of self-help, business and inspirational books I have on Audible. One of these books is called The Dream Manager by Matthew Kelly. This book has inspired me to really listen to my dreams and take steps toward accomplishing them. For this reason, I have created The Dream Team.

The Dream Team is a group of friends gathering together to share their dreams, hold one another accountable and encourage everyone to fulfill their dreams-- with an overarching goal of becoming the best version of themselves. Our first assignment is to start a list of 100 dreams--goals, wants, wishes--large or small, that we'd like to accomplish tomorrow or in the next 50 years.

The list is ongoing and can change daily. Currently, I have 23 dreams. Some of them will change with time. Some will be deleted. More will be added. And many will be accomplished.

Today is our first meeting. We are going to take about 30 minutes to walk together and discuss our dreams. The goal of this meeting is to share, get inspired and start holding each other accountable.

One of the dreams on my list is to start The Dream Team at my employer MINDBODY. I guess I have a good start with the few friends I've gathered for today's meeting. We'll see how it progresses.
